Latest Updates from Our Project:

A Peak Behind the Curtain
about 1 year ago – Wed, Mar 05, 2025 at 10:08:14 AM

Hello miners!

We got some behind-the-scene stuff to share with you today!

With a project of this size, everything you do comes with its own scope statement. It all needs to be anticipated and addressed as much as possible, and this goes for all the visual material, such as pictures and videos.

This was the work of Julien Vang, our photographer and marketing specialist. He discovered his passion for photography after his father lent him his camera before a student exchange in South Korea.
He kept developing his skill over time all on his own, with experience and watching Youtube tutorials. You can discover his impressive work on his instagram: @fatboyinlille.

Julien’s task was to showcase our products with immersive visuals.

He did his best to capture all the details he could while making sure everyone would instantly recognize the iconic DRG design we all know and love. To achieve this, he set up a little studio in his flat, adding lights, reflectors and the necessary backgrounds. He also 3D printed various supports for the items

The bottle opener was another challenge as the metal reflected the light back, while its model didn’t allow it to easily capture its ergonomic. It’s also on the heavier side and it can be complicated to reflect that properly in visual material.

Another assignment that needed to be overcome was the trailer video we’ve made. Discussions were had, storyboards were drawn, and many liters of coffee were drunk before the production even started.

For all the photographers out there: Julien used a Sony A7IV camera body with an AMRON 35-150mm F, a 2-2.8 Di III XVD, and a Sony FE 90mm F2.8 Macro G OSS.
If you didn't understand a goddamn thing, take it to R&D. The eggheads over there probably know what this all means.

Now, this is all nice but what else is new? Well, we’ve reached 5000 backers and the project has been funded to over 300% now! Again, thank you so much for your support during this campaign, miners!

We still have a bit of time left before it reaches its ends. The pledge manager will be opened after this and you’ll be able to select the colors for your mugs.

Color Scheme Update!
about 1 year ago – Wed, Feb 26, 2025 at 09:58:56 AM

Hello miners!

We have some great news for you!
Our manufacturer has been impressed with your support, and thanks to that, we've been able to work out something big! VERY big!

So, what is it and what will it change for you and the campaign? Well, it's simple really:

All 4 color schemes variants are available for everyone right now!
Once the campaign ends, you’ll be able to select ANY of the 4 colors for your mugs through the pledge manager.

Yes, you've read that right! You can now enjoy your mug in green, red, white or black.
This also means we no longer have any stretch goals – at least for now - but stay tuned! We’re thinking about some potential new ones.

We’ll be sure to let you know if anything new comes up.

In the meantime, don’t forget to reach your weekly quota. Those minerals ain’t gonna mine themselves!
Rock and Stone!

Funded at 250%

Hello miners!

You’ve funded the campaign very quickly (in about 4 hours) and brought the project to life. We cannot thank you deeply for that but now is not the time to rest yet!
Even though production of the mugs is not starting right now, there is still plenty to do. Keep an eye out for all our future announcements.

And speaking of announcements, we have something to share with you today! Before the production itself starts, there is a whole pre-production process that starts approximately a month after the end of the campaign.

The study (modelling, technical constraints, etc) takes about 3 weeks. Prototyping should last 2 weeks. Making all the necessary moulds takes around 16 weeks, and testing them to make sure everything comes out properly adds another 2 weeks.

After this, it’s finalizing the moulds (4 weeks), the pre-production process (2 weeks) and all the tests in laboratories (5 weeks) before starting the production of all the mugs. It all stacks up to a lengthy 34 weeks process for pre-production! And that's assuming there's no issue or that we don't have to make any major changes.

We have quite a journey ahead of us. Of course, we will keep you updated with every step of the way.

WE'VE MADE IT, MINERS!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Feb 13, 2025 at 02:21:39 PM

We've been hard at work for 2 years, prototyping, contacting manufacturers, talking with companies, choosing materials, doing MATH of all things and many many meetings...
All of this to bring this project to life, in hope to one day be able to sell these mugs to you, the community.

And thanks to your incredible support, this project has hit its funding goal! This is a great step for us and it's all thanks to you!
Work isn't over yet and we will have many exciting news to share with you in the future. But for now, let's rejoice and celebrate.

Again, from the bottom of our hearts: THANK YOU!

Karl would be proud!
